FERROUS AND NON – FERROUS SCRAPS

"Ferrous" scrap means metal that contains iron and is magnetic, while "non-ferrous" scrap does not contain iron and is not magnetic.

• Magnetic Attraction: The easiest way to tell the difference is with a magnet - ferrous scrap will stick to a magnet, while non-ferrous scrap will not.
• Corrosion Resistance: Non-ferrous metals are generally more resistant to rust and corrosion than ferrous metals.
• Weight: Ferrous metals tend to be heavier than non-ferrous metals.
